Esther Elizabeth Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark, was born near Lebanon, Kansas, on July 19, 1912, and departed this life at the Blue Valley hospital at Hebron , Nebr., on February 4, 1936, at the age of 23 years, 7 months and 16 days. She was united with the Christian church at the age of 10 years. She was united in marriage to Virgil Mapes, April 7, 1931.

Ester was a good home loving girl and often speaking of her little home in Cuba as being the happiest part of her life. She was of a bright, happy disposition, always greeting everyone with a smile and always thinking of others happiness as well as her own.

Ester was sick a great deal of her life, but was always patient in her suffering. She was taken sick Thursday, Jan. 29, and all that medical assistance and loving hands could do was done for her comfort but to no avail. The Lord knew best so He took her to be with Him in the beautiful home He prepares for all who love Him.

She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband, Virgil Mapes, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark of Belleville and three sisters, Mrs. C. L. Jones of Haddam, Mrs. LeRoy Sheppard of Belleville and Helen of the home and three brothers-in-law, Kenneth, Carol and Cleo and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elmer Malmgren of Wichita besides many other friends.

Funeral services were conducted from the Bachelor-Faulkner Chapel and interment was made at the Hawks cemetery.
