Ira "Jack" Mansker was born July 28, 1926 in Rockwood to Noah Edward and Mary Louise (Warren) Mansker. His surviving siblings included Joseph Mansker of Wapapello, MO, Lloyd Mansker of Murphysboro, Frieda Tudor of Rockwood and Ruth Brocks of Murphysboro. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Vernon.
Mr. Mansker married Virginia Johnson on September 3, 1949 in Chester. She survived as well as children, Kirby Mansker of Vandalia, Randy Mansker of Walden, CO, Gordon Mansker of Rockwood, LaCleta Hall of Zion, Sherry Mansker of Springfield, Melodie Rushing of Rockwood and Martha Yankey of Rockwood.
Mr. Mansker was a carpenter and a Navy veteran, having served during World War II.
He died at the age of 72 on Thursday, January 7, 1999 in Memorial Hospital in Chester. His funeral service was held at the Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester. Rev. Cecil Dunning officiated. Memorials were to be made to the Mansker Cemetery.
