Mrs. Orel C. Banks

AKRON, Iowa Mrs. Orel Chuck Banks, 79, of Akron died Saturday at her home after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. The Rev. Timothy Schott will officiate. Burial will be in the Ellendale Cemetery, rural Merrill. A scriptural vigil service will be at 7:30 p.m. today in the Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Banks, the former Nona Marie Mansfield, was born Jan. 26, 1907, near Hinton and was raised by Hannah DeRocher after the death of her mother. She married Orel Chuck Banks Aug. 6, 1934, in Sioux City. She taught rural schools in Plymouth County for many years.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Joe of Akron; a brother, James of Westfield; four sisters, Alice Worden, Margaret Ream and Frances Moe, all of Sioux City and Lucille Hall, of Anaheim, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

~Note: Per SSDI she died in March 1986.
