Johnsonville- Charles W. Manning, 76, of Route 67, died Saturday at the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albany after a long illness. Born in Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late Clarence and Frances (Porter) Manning and the widower of Kathleen Newell Manning. He was educated in Ticonderoga schools. Mr. Manning served in the Marine Corps during World War II, suffering a disabling injury. He retired in 1979 from the Watervliet Arsenal where he was a machinist for than 30 years. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Lansingburgh. Survivors include two sons, Chuck and Timothy Manning both of Johnsonville; a daughter, Marilyn Preville of Watervliet; a sister, Dorothy Clarke of Connecticut; nine grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
