Delia N Manning married Joseph A Martin on Feb 23, 1895 in Derry, NH. She was 21 and he was 24 years old.
She owned a beauty salon and worked in a shoe factory until she retired.

One aunt told about how Delia said her mother or grandmother died in childbirth and the step mother would go after the kids with a knife and they would end up climbing trees to get away from her. This step mother was no blood relation. My aunt Jeanne told me this. Ann Day.

Other stories were that her husband drank and she would go down to the firehouse to get his pay or they would end up evicted again. Her son Charles came home from school one day and they had been evicted and he had no idea where they had moved. Another story was that during the depression all the lights in Derry were gradually shut off house by house because people could not pay the electric bills
