Sarah Gammill
Sarah Gammill, widow of the late ROBERT GAMMILL, well-known steamboat man of the Columbia and upper Willamette, died at her late residence, 271 Porter street, July 4. Mrs. Gammill was born in Springfield, Ill., September 17, 1845, and crossed the plains with her parents in 1852. She lived in Oregon City for a number of years, and since has made her home in portland. She is survived by three children, John Gammill and Mrs. Inis Zanker of this city and Mrs. Lillie Elliott of Oregon City, two brothers, James Mann of Oregon City and Henry Mann of Grants Pass, Or., also by eight grandchildren, Mrs. Walter L. A. Johnson, Mrs. L. C. Livermore, Chester, Guy, Marie, Walter, Raymond and Ruth Elliott, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Finley's mortuary Tuesday July 8, at 2:30 P. M., with interment at Mountain View cemetery, Oregon City.
