She was the daughter of James and Anna Mangrum, of Marshall County. She married Francis Marion Eley in Marshall County, August 26,1875. To this union, three children were born,
Jessie Lee Eley, John Franklin Eley and William Anderson Eley. they were God-fearing people and known far and wide for their good lives. Their home was wide open to visitors and kin people always. The Mangrums gathered at their home, bringing with them banjos, violins, guitars, etc. Each one could play all instruments, so they would play, then swap and play again.
MRS. F. M. EALEY (Eley)
Mrs. Harriet Catherine Ealey, wife of Mr. F. M. Ealey, died at her home near Unionville on Dec. 24th:aged 78 years, 9 months and 20 days. She was a native of Marshall county, and was a worthy and much beloved Christian woman, a member of the C. P. Church, and had a large circle of relatives and friends who loved her for her many noble traits of character. She reared a family of worthy and most estimable children, and always labored faithfully for the welfare and happiness of her loved ones. She leaves a husband and two sons, Mr. J. L. Ealey, of Shelbyville, and W. A. Ealey of Unionville. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Unionville by the Rev. C. I. Kelly, assisted by Rev. B. F. Tipps. Interment in Unionville Cemetery.
