Alyne Ruth Maney Bradley age 68 of Maggie Valley, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 01, 2008 after a period of declining health. She was born June 6, 1939 in Swain County. She owned and operated Alyne�s Quilt Shop in Maggie Valley for numerous years. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was their custodian for many years until her illness. She was a caregiver for her family when there was an illness and also to many people in the community. Other things that Alyne enjoyed were baking, her flowers and cooking. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend to all.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Emma Powell Maney, a brother Norman Maney, a sister Dorothy Johnson and her son in law Bob Rathbone.
Surviving is her husband Bobby Dean Bradley of 52 years, a daughter Vera Rathbone of Maggie Valley, two sons Jim Bradley of Maggie Valley and Tim Bradley and his wife Kim of Waynesville, one brother Jim Ed Maney and his wife Jessie of Cherokee, four sisters Jean Johnson, Alice Sequoyah and her husband Blue, Beatrice Carver and her husband Allen, and Linda Wiggins and her husband Wayne all of Cherokee, three grandchildren, Toshia Leigh Bradley, Jacob Edward Bradley, and Hattie Grace Bradley, and many Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Jerry Nelson and Johnny Swanger officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 PM Saturday at the Funeral home. Burial will be held at the Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park.
