Funeral services to will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1st at Sterry Memorial Presbyterian Church in Roswell. Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Parma from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.
Mary Ellen was born January 7, 1923 in Nampa, Idaho, the daughter of Stephen Homer and Lela Fern Gilliland Maness. She was educated in Arizona and Idaho, graduating from Middleton High School.
She married Glenn Allender on February 6, 1945 at Middleton.
She was employed by Idaho First National Bank in the 1940's. After their children were born she stayed home and raised her family. After the children were raised she went back to work for Idaho First National Bank and later Co-op Oil Association in Caldwell.
Mary Ellen was active in Ruby Rebekah Lodge, serving in all positions in the lodge and served as Treasurer for the state Rebekah's. She was also active in the Fort Boise Historical Society for which she was also the Treasurer.
Glenn passed away February 23, 2000.
Surviving are her children, Marcia and Armando Ruiz, of Boise, Keith Allender, of Parma, Harriett and Terry Camphouse, of Wright, WY; a sister-in-law, Sally Maness; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her feline, "Snoop".
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her brother, James Maness and sister-in-law, Neva Allender Armstrong.
