Bertha L. (Manchester) Burdick was the daughter of John Manchester and Lydia Wales (Coggeshall) Manchester. She married Stephen A. Burdick in Newport on December 10, 1934. This was apparently a remarriage for them.

Mrs. Stephen Burdick, 89, Portsmouth Native, Dies
Mrs. Bertha Louise Burdick, 89, of Middletown, wife of the late Stephen A. Burdick, died Thursday morning in a nursing home where she had been a patient for some time. She was born in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late John and Lydia Wales Manchester. Her nearest relative is a nephew, James R. Sherman of Florida.
Services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hambly Funeral Home by the Rev. David Carter, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Portsmouth.
