Dorothy Jeanette "Jane" Maloney, of Blue Ridge Summit, entered into God's Heavenly Kingdom March 19 in Chambersburg.

She was the daughter of the late Mathias A. and Laura I (Kaiser) Zeltinger.

Jane was a 1939 graduate of Baker High School in Baker, MT and a 1942 graduate of Holy Rosary Hospital School of Nursing in Miles City, MT.

During World War II, Jane began her military career with the Army Nurse Corps in 1943 and was stationed in London, England, and Marseilles, France. At the close of the war, she was assigned duties at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver, CO, where she married Lt. David J. Maloney, a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1946.

Upon being discharged from the Army, Jane accompanied her husband and raised their family through several tours of duty.

In Blue Ridge Summit, she worked as a nurse for local doctors. Jane also volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, thrift shop at the Episcopal Church and Mother Seton School.

She was an active member of St. Rita's Catholic Church, where she played the organ for many years. Jane also played the organ at the Post Chapel at Fort Ritchie for many years. She was also a member of the Nebraska Mineralogical Rock Hound Club, Fort Ritchie Wives Club and the Cumberland Valley Guild of Craftsmen.

Jane was the wife of the late David J. Maloney Sr., and is survived by five daughters, Katherine L. Vogel of Gaithersburg, MD, Leah M. Tove of Asheville, NC, Karen A. Hodges of Hagerstown, MD, Tara L. Drake of Sandwich, MA and Lisa L. Williams of Hoover, AL; two sons, David J. Maloney Jr. of Frederick, MD and Brian P. Maloney of Phoenixville; one sister, Miriam "Pat" Keffeler of Missoula, MT; one brother, D. Michael "Mic" Zeltinger; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Gwen Donnelly; a brother, Jim Zeltinger; and one grandson, Shane Maloney of Frederick, MD.
