Larry R. Bevard (1938–1999)
A mother and two children were killed and two persons were injured Wednesday night in a car-truck collision near Canton.
The dead were Mrs. Mary Lou Bevard, 30, her daughter, Betty Lynn, 4, and son, Jerry, 8 months.
Mrs. Brevard's husband, Larry, about 32, and his sister, Mrs. Donneta McCloskey, 29, were injured. The woman suffered critical head injuries and Bevard serious internal injuries.
Police said Bevard's station wagon collided with a truck that Orville Jackson, 42, was backing into the driveway of his home two miles west of Canton.
Jackson, who was not hurt, was charged with improper use of lanes and improper lighting of his truck. His bond was set at $5,000.
The Bevards and Mrs. McCloskey lived in Cuba, 12 miles west of Canton.
