Washington Terrace – Shirley Wade, 88, died June 25, 2010 in Washington Terrace, Utah. She was born may 1, 1922 in Taylor, Utah to Clarence Henry and Florence Irene Tracy Malan. She was a graduate of Ogden High School. She married Robert Ray Wade July 22, 1946 in Chicago Cook County, IL; they were married 64 years.
Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Stake Relief SWashington ociety; Relief Society President; Relief Society Spiritual Living and Cultural Refinement Teacher; Stake Missionary; Temple Square and Joseph Smith Memorial Building Hostess and was a visiting teacher.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, brunches, dinner parties and holiday meals. Being an excellent seamstress she always made Easter and Christmas outfits for all the children. She also created numerous quilts, using her own designs. Mom loved gardening and keeping a beautiful yard and home.
She is survived by four daughters and two sons, Judy Moffitt of No. Ogden, Cathy W. (Garth) Rohde of Clinton, Dee Ann (Kevin)Taylor of St. George, Jan Hall of Driggs, ID, Jon (Kimberly) Wade of Ogden and Phillip (Theresa) Lee of Layton; one sister-in-law, Tess Malan; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
