Leroy E. Malan
Leroy E. Malan, 57, of 960 21st, died Thursday in the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake after a lingering illness.
Mr. Malan was born Nov. 15, 1906, in Ogden, a son of Wilford (Gus) and Harriet Burton Malan. He was married to Rose Deininger on Sept. 30, 1933, in Malad.
He was a fireman for the Ogden Union Railway and Depot. Co. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and LDS Church, and a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, one son and one daughter, Fred W. Malan, Clearfield, and Mrs. Wayne (Marilyn) Colvin, Ogden; 10 grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, Leon and Alton Malan, and Mrs. John (Geneva) Simpson, all of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Larkin Chapel of the Dawn with Bishop Warren Shurtleff conducting. Friends may call at the chapel Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Burial in Ogden City Cemetery.
