Frances V. Gorrell, 83, of Marshall, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall, with Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Born Feb. 4, 1926, in Miami, she was the daughter of the late Louis L. Malan and Dora Chevalier Malan. On March 30, 1946, she married William E. Gorrell, who preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1994. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane Hayslip and her husband, Jim, of rural Napton; one son, Keith Gorrell and his wife, Marcia, of rural Napton; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hickman and her husband, Tom, Jill Kenemore and her husband, Chris, Bill Gorrell and Rob Gorrell; four great-grandchildren, Josh and Becca Hickman and Katy and Jessica Kenemore; one brother, Paul Malan of Marshall; one sister, Mildred Looney of Belton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, David Eugene Gorrell, and three brothers, Charles Malan, Melvin Malan and Bill Malan.
