Timothy Mahony Jr. was born c. 1743 in County Kerry, Ireland. His father was Timothy Mahony Sr. according to LDS and 'The Snow-Estes Ancestry' by Nora Emma Snow and Myrtle Mae Jillson. Timothy Jr. married Huldah Estes on February 20, 1774 in Cumberland, Providence County, Rhode Island. They had at least four children named Florrence, Sarah (Mrs. Asa Capron), Huldah (Mrs. Nathan Olney), and Timothy (III). Timothy Jr. was a teacher. He was also a private in Capt. William Aldrich's company, Col. Daniel Hitchcock's regiment, of the Rhode Island troops. He served nine months. Timothy II died on September 30, 1817 in Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island.

1) "Dr. George Capron...His mother's maiden name was Sarah Mahoney. She was a daughter of Timothy Mahoney, an educated Irish gentleman, who, after pursuing a collegiate course in France came to this country and devoted his life to teaching."
