Douglas R. Mahnesmith, 34, of Galesburg, died at 3:15 p.m. on March 9, 2009 at home.
Doug was born on June 25, 1974 in Galesburg, the son of Wesley and Charlene Plue Mahnesmith, Sr. He married Kyra Gibbons on March 31, 1997 in Galesburg. Doug is survived by his wife Kyra of Galesburg; a son Logan and a daughter Paige both of Galesburg; his brother, Wesley (Melonie) Mahnesmith, Jr., sisters, Teri (Dennis) Allen of Knoxville and LuAnn Spahr of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donny.
Doug had worked as a service tech for Galesburg Railroad Refrigerated Services. He was a member of N.A. and the Salvation Army.
Visitation will be on Friday March 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, with a committal of ashes service at 12:30 p.m. at Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, with Capt. Rick Ray, officiating. Memorials may be made to a memorial fund to be established for his children.
