Mrs. Amelia Mahler Alexander, 90, daughter of Max and Rosina Ritter Mahler, was born April 14, 1870 on the family farm in Harrisburg Township. She passed away Friday, May 13 at the Van Buren Memorial hospital in Keosauqua after an extended illness. Most of her life was spent in Van Buren county, except for a few years in Washington state.
On Jan 5, 1899, she married Thomas J. Baugher, who died in 1918. On April 17, 1929 she married William Alexander, who died in August of 1935. A daughter, Erma, also preceded her in death in 1918.
Surviving her are a sister, Mrs. Jennie T. Hays, who has made her home with her the past sixteen years and nieces and nephews. She was preceded by three brothers and six sisters.
She was a member of St. Boniface church in Farmington and of it's Rosary Society.
The Rosary was recited Sunday evening, May 15 at the Bonaparte Reposing Rooms. The funeral was held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface church at Farmington with burial in the Vale cemetery.
Bearers were Keith Fletcher, Harold Horstman, Rex Miller, Jack Christy, K. Roy Parr and William Easter.
