Nancy Irene Curley passed away peacefully on September 26, 2012, at Hospice in Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born March 21, 1941, to James and Lacey Maher in Toledo, Ohio.
Nancy was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1959. She married the love of her life, Richard in 1960. Together they raised their special son, Craig. Nancy was devoted to caring for her son and spending time in service of those with developmental disabilities. She was involved in the Mother's Club at the Larc Lane School and Lott Industries on Holland Road, volunteered for Special Olympics, and helped wherever she could. Nancy would never say no to those in need.
Nancy and Rich were awarded the "Spirit Award" in 2010 from the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and the "Couple's Award" for dedicated service in 1993 from A.R.C.
Surviving is her loving husband, Richard; her son, Craig, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Zieroff, Ruth Maher, and James Maher.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Sunday, September 30, 2012, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at the mortuary Monday, October 1st, at 9:15 a.m. followed by a mass at Historic St. Patrick's Church in Toledo. Interment at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial Donations can be made to Sunshine Respite Care, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, or Historic St. Patrick's Church. The family wishes to thank their special neighbor Lorri Stark for her comforting care, and all the Clearwater neighbors for their thoughtfulness. Nancy leaves behind many special friends.
