Born in Ashe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Coy Lee and Katey Clyde Comer Mahaffey.
She was a member of Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters, Ruth Ann King of North East MD, Patricia Lynn Hansen of Nottingham, PA, Sandra Jean Miller of FL., Christine Michelle Carr of New London; four sons, Earl Dale Atwood of Nottingham, PA, James David Atwood of Cochranville, PA, Woodrow Charles Atwood of Oxford, Gary Wayne Atwood of Toughkenamon; twenty-two grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Blevins of West Grove, Valyree Smith of Nottingham, and Shirley Durborow of Oxford; brothers, Estel Mahaffey of Cochranville, Vester Mahaffey of West Jefferson, NC, Larry Mahaffey of Oxford, Ted Mahaffey of Port Deposit, MD, Quentin Hodgson of Cochranville. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Nancy Lizzie Mae Hodgson, and a sister, Mabel Brooks, and two brothers, Edward Couram, and Garland Mahaffey.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, March 12 at the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church, 303 West Christine Rd. Nottingham, PA.

Interment will be in Kemblesville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
