Joan Gauthier, 65, of Torrington, wife of the late Armand O. Gauthier, died Saturday, (April 9, 2005) at her home in Torrington after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Torrington on October 12, 1939, a daughter of the late Adolph and Elsie Maggi. Joan resided in Harwinton for many years prior to her return to Torrington. She leaves her son, Jim Cotter of Boston, MA; her brother, Robert Maggi of Litchfield; her sister, Karen Flammia of Woodbury as well as other extended family members and lifelong friends. Although she will be sadly missed, Joan's high spirit, sense of humor and heartfelt hospitality will live on indefinitely in the hearts of those who loved her. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 12, 9:45 a.m. from The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m. at Saint Peter's Church, Torrington. Internment will be in the New St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Torrington. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, 6-8 p.m. at The Gleeson Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G.
