Joe Trevino Maestas, age 81, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Alta Vista Regional Hospital.
Joe was born on May 14, 1932 in El Porvenir, NM to the late Leonardo Maestas and Juanita Alirez Maestas.
Joe owned and operated Arboles Landscaping. Joe loved the mountains, working with wood. Joe loved the Lord and his family. Joe had a good sense of humor and was a great storyteller.
Joe was united in marriage to Corine Erlinda Sena on December 21, 1951.
Joe is survived by his wife, Corine Maestas and their children, Nancy Maestas of Las Animas, CO, Richard "Ricky" Maestas, Daniel Maestas and his wife, Cindy, Joesph Maestas all of Las Vegas, NM, sister, Linda Padilla of Gallinas, NM, his 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Rogers Chapel. Prayer Services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Rogers Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Rogers Chapel with Pastor Gabriel Ortiz Officiating through the Assembly of God Church. Final resting will held after the service in El Porvenir, NM at the San Antonio Cemetery. Pallbears include James Baca, Adam Baca, Brian Maestas, Darius Baca, Darian Baca and Jonelle Baca. Serving as Honorary Pallbear is Aubrey Maestas.
