Mark was survived by his children: Leeann Maes (companion Cory Lewis) and Mark Maes (companion Merina Trujillo); grandchildren: Shawn Martinez, Ashlynn Lewis, and Marcos Maes; parents Daniel and Rose Maes of Embudo; brother Daniel Maes Jr.; sisters: Debbie Gonzales (husband Ernie) and Melissa Peña (husband John); uncle/aunt Aaron and Tonie Maes; Madrina Frances Aranda; godson Johnny Atencio; and numerous nieces, nephews & other loving relatives & friends.
Public visitation and Rosary were on November 8, 2012 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian burial was on November 9, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial followed in the Father Kauper Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Norman Martinez, Johnny Atencio, David Maes, John Peña, Rodney Maes and Ernie Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers: Shawn Martinez, Ashlynn Lewis and Marcos Maes.
