Carl Andrew Madsen, 70, passed away at Bonaventure of Idaho Falls on June 8, 2010.
He was born March 24, 1940, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Odell J. Madsen and Minnie M. Madsen. Carl spent most of his life in Pocatello and Idaho Falls. After graduating from Pocatello High School, he worked in sales for General Mills before moving to Idaho Falls, where he started a career in real estate. He sold homes for Boise Cascade and continued in real estate, eventually being elected board President. He was also president of R Holmes Realty and Tri-Star Realty. He had recently retired and relocated back to Idaho Falls from Shakopee, Minn., where he was working in the commercial construction industry.
He married the love of his life, Janet Brick, in July 1961. They have two children, Jeff and Andrea. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed learning and reading about history and the old West.
Survivors include his children, Jeff and Andrea; three grandchildren, Bailee, Sidney and Roman; daughter-in-law, Sonja; son-in-law, Miguel; sisters, Wendy and Julie; brothers, Jim and Eric; and his father, Odell. Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy, mother, Minnie, and wife, Janet, who passed March 18, 2010.
