He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teresa; son, Jose; daughters, Silvia (Gabriel) Amparano, Alicia (Jason) Swick, Angelica (Andy) Orta, Teresa (Albert) Sanchez; and 12 grandchildren.
His priority was always to make sure his family was taken care of up until his last day. He worked hard all his life from working sugar cane fields in Mexico and tomato fields in northern California to 30 years at Inland Steel in Northwest Indiana.
He was a gracious man with a giving heart. He loved to tell stories and jokes and made friends easily. He will be forever missed, but is home with our Lord.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 26, 2014 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral with Rosary recited at 10:00 a.m. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.
