When Charles Victor and Isaac Harris opened their Livemore clothing store in October 1881, "the first sale they made was a pair of shoes to Miss Ida Madison. As a remembrance of that occasion they presented the same lady, now Mrs. Hans Anderson, a pair of the best shoes in their stock on Wednesday, which marked the 25th anniversary of their opening" according to a 1906 article.
