Para Lee B. Buck, 69, Topeka, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at a Topeka hospital. She had Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS).
She was born Jan. 13, 1934, in Chicago, to Adam Mader and Madalen Hergenreder Mader. She graduated from Hayden High School in 1952.
Mrs. Buck had been a secretary for Topeka Unified School District 501 from 1966 until retiring in 1994.
Mrs. Buck was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi Chapter of Kansas Chi Master sorority.
She married Charles R. Buck on Oct. 8, 1955, in Topeka. He survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Madalen Mader, Topeka; a son, Michael R. Buck, Exeter, Neb.; a daughter, Cindy M. Wilson, Topeka; a brother, Roger Mader, Memphis, Tenn.; a grandson, Jason Gillenwater, Topeka; three great-grandchildren, Cassie, Adam and Jayden Gillenwater; and a stepgranddaughter, Christina Forshee, Auburn.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Church. Inurnment will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
