Carolyn Mader Barnes, 75, of Cold Spring, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at her home.
She was a retired teacher with Charleston and Charles Town schools in West Virginia, and a past president of Right to Life of Jefferson County. Her husband, Edward B. Barnes, died in 2003.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Ann Barnes of Cold Spring, Mary Carol Mellen of Yorktown, Ind., Mary Teresa Estes of Stevens Point, Wis., Mary Helen Barnes of Southgate and Mary Kathleen Wheeler of Deer Wood, W.Va.; sons, Edward J. Barnes of Southgate, Lawrence Joseph Barnes of Kettering, Ohio, Anthony G. Barnes of Frankfort and Daniel B. Barnes of Bridgetown, Ohio; a sister, Mary Kedl of Knoxville, Tenn.; and 22 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.
