Mrs. Laura D. Baird, 77, Fulton, died at 12:55 a.m. today at Memorial hospital in Logansport. She had been ill for one year and a patient at the hospital for one day. Mrs. Baird was born Feb. 23, 1884, in Grant county to Alonzo and Ann Beekman Macy. She was married March 4, 1901, in Grant county to Charles F. Baird, who died in 1950. She was a member of the Fulton E.U.B. church. She had resided in the Fulton area since 1901. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Jackson, Fulton, and Mrs. Evelyn Baldwin, South Bend; two sons, Beveridge, Fulton, and Walter, R.R. 1, Rochester; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Macy, Rochester; one half-sister, Mrs. Ruth Johnson, Springfield, Ill. Two sons preceded in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fulton E.U.B. church. The Rev. Arthur Truex will officiate. Burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. Friends may call at the Ditmire-Davidson funeral home in Fulton and at the church one hour prior to services.
