DAHINDA - Janice "Jan" Kaye Johnson, 54, of Dahinda, died at 7:30 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 4 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Rev. Randy Douglass will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, May 3 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or to the Kenneth Copeland Ministries.
Jan was born January 31, 1955 in Galesburg, the daughter of Donald and Helen (Cheesman) Mackie. He married Norman "Norm" Johnson on April 21, 1974 in Williamsfield. He survives as do her parents of Williamsfield, two sons, Mack Johnson of Williamsfield and Beau Johnson of Maquon, IL, a daughter, Lacy Johnson of Dahinda, two brothers, Mike (Tasi) Mackie of Williamsfield and Dan (Sherry) Mackie of Mapleton, IL and two grandchildren, Austin and Caiden. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl (Clora) Mackie and Glenn (Ina) Cheesman.
She graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1973 and had attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg. She was employed as a teachers aide and a bus driver for the Williamsfield School District. She was strong in her faith and was a member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed mushrooming and being a follower, supporter and cheerleader for all of the Williamsfield sport teams. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She thoroughly enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
