Al was born May 13, 1932 in Long Beach, CA, and passed away November 6, 2012 in Alhambra, CA. He was raised in Escondido, CA. He graduated from BIOLA University, and spent 18 years overseas as a missionary with Overseas Missionary Fellowship, in Malaysia and Singapore. Al and his family moved to Torrance in 1976, where he lived until moving to Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra, CA in 2009. During his time in Torrance he worked as an Associate Pastor at Torrance First Baptist Church for 23 years, as well as a chaplain with Hospital Chaplain Ministries of America, serving Kaiser Sunset for the Greater Los Angeles Area & Kaiser South Bay for 20 years. Al was preceded in death by Doris Mace, his beloved wife of nearly 50 years. He is survived by his children, Steve and Jackie Mace, Susan Mace and Karlie Rose. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him!
