SARNIA OBSERVER, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 2, 1983:
Merle Christina Clements, formerly of 138 Norman St., died Tuesday in Kingston. Born in Plympton Township, a resident of Sarnia from 1920 until 1980, she was a member of Central Baptist Church, a member of Canatara Chapter IODE, a member of the women's auxilliary of Sarnia General Hospital and a member of Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club. Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arthur M. (Donna) Fox of Kingston, three grandchildren, Gloria and Lorne Fox, both of Ottawa and Elizabeth Fox of Kingston; two sisters, Catherine Elliott of Petrolia, Mrs. Douglas (Mary Gladys) Lawrason of Summerland, B.C., and brother Lorne MacDougall of Forest. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Alexander Clements (1978). Funeral at Central Baptist Church Thursday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Donald Stratton officiating. Burial in Alvinston Cemetery. Visitation at the Stewart Funeral Home today 7 to 9 p.m. and at Central Baptist Church 1:45 to 3 p.m.
