Shirley A. MacDougall, Aug. 2, 1946-April 14, 2011, resident of San Jose, was born in Modesto CA and lived in San Carlos CA for many years. She passed away in peace at home with her dearly loved partner, Jim Moblad at her side as always. Shirley adored her daughter, Alexa, son-in-law, Richard and grandkids, DJ, Alex, Ben and Payton were the pride of her life. Having Jim's family in her life was a treasured blessing to her. She is also survived by her mother, Abby Jean Williams, sisters, Janet Tappan and Suzie Hilgeman, and her cousin, Peggy Larkin, who had a special bond and gave her loving care. She was predeceased by her father, Dick Williams. Shirley lived her life with soaring enthusiasm and her infectious smile will always beam in the hearts of her loved ones. She had a special gift to spread "Joy", her favorite word, among her cherished circle of lifetime friends. Shirley was thrilled to cheer for her grandchildren in a variety of sports, travel often, watch her garden thrive, spark up a dance floor and was known for her constant helping hand. She was an active member of the bay area banking community for 40 years and earned recognition for her volunteer work in many organizations, including San Francisco Business and Professional Women's "1995 Woman of Achievement Award", honored for her extraordinary inspiration to women building careers. Friends are invited to join a celebration of her life on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 2 PM at the Community United Church of Christ, 1336 Arroyo Avenue, San Carlos, CA 94070. Her courage while fighting pancreatic cancer was endless and she hoped for a cure. In lieu of flowers, donations to her favored charity, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network are appreciated.
