Marilyn Jean (Mabe) Poitz, age 53, of Nixa, passed away Sunday in Branson. She was born May 1, 1954, the daughter of Jim and Katie (Wolfe) Mabe. Marilyn had been an accountant and office supervisor for the Baldnobbers Motor Inn in Branson for the past 14 years. At the age of 16 she performed on stage with the Baldnobbers. She enjoyed bowling, especially with her brother, Tim. Marilyn was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. She was a loving and caring family member and friend to many, always willing to help wherever needed. On March 29, 1995, she and Lyn Poitz were married. Survivors include her husband, Lyn; her son, J.P. Mabe, Nixa; her mother, Katie Mabe Diekhoff and husband, Bob, Nixa; her brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Patty Mabe, Nixa; a nephew, Brandon Mabe and wife, Jessica, and their son, Broden, Nixa; a niece, Breanna Mabe, Nixa; uncle Bobby and wife, Jan Wolfe, Ozark; other uncles and aunts; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Mabe; grandmother, Gladys Wolfe; nephew, Shane Mabe; and cousin, Dennis Mabe. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Tommy Bilyeu officiating. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
