Joann Elizabeth Koonce was born June 20, 1936 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Josephine Dingeldein Mabe.
She was united in marriage to Donnie Koonce on August 12, 1969, Joann was a loving wife, mother , grandmother and a friend to many She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Tory), Highlandville. She had worked at Dayco and Pershing Junior High School in Springfield and was a member of Dayco Retiree.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 31 years, Donnie Koonce, Highlandville, three children, Debbie Peters, Co. Terri Howell , Tx. and Vicki Maples and her husband Brian, Highlandville, four stepchildren, Marilynn Graham and her husband Dennis, Or. Ray Koonce and his wife Darla , Il.Roy Koonce and his wife Colleen, Or, and Jeff Koonce, Wa. Fifteen grandchildren, Morgan, Bradley, Ryleigh, Toni , Staci, Ricki, Brandy, Tammy, Marla, Brittany, Brena, Bradley, Ivy, Jake and Cassie, three great grandchildren, her stepmother Gladys Mabe, Branson, a sister Beverly Owen and her husband Terry, Springfield and a stepbrother, Larry Lewis and his wife Terri, Branson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepbrother, Jimmie lewis , and a stepdaughter , Ruth Ann Koonce.
Those who die in the Lord never see each other for the last time.
Officiating was Pastor Rick Washam, Pastor Clifford Day

Joann was a super nice person who loved life , her family and her friends,she and I rode together to work and worked as a duo for several years. I miss her greatly.
