Birdie Elora Baker Mabe age 75, of Tazewell, passed away May 14, 1990 at Claiborne County Hospital. She was a faithful member of Chittum Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband Rev. Jim Mabe: parents Tom and Zonie Reed Baker: Brothers, Howard, John, and Paul Baker; Sisters Stella Lane, Ann Rosenbalm
Survivors: son and daughter-in-law James and Catherine Mabe, Tazewell; daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Annell) Janeway, Mrs. Dennis (Georgia) Moyers, Mrs. Tom (Billie) Edwards, Mrs. Bill(Jan) Hamlin all of New Tazewell, Mrs. Joe (Bobbie) Arnold of Tazewell; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucy Cody and O'Neil Coffey both of New Tazewell; two special sister-in-laws, Lotha Baker
Cole, New Tazewell, Bertha Marlow Monroe, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service 2 P.M. Wednesday at Chittum Chapel Baptist Church, Rev. Bill Coffey, Rev. Lonnie Dalton officiating. Music by Chittum Chapel Church, Liberty Quartet and Young Chapel Church. Burial in Chittum Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jakie Cunningham, Ross Brock, Howard Bull, Robert Estep, Bob Arnwine, Eddie Roberts, Frank Chittum, Pat Shelly.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Coffey Funeral Home Tazewell.
