"ADOLPH LYON - word has been received that Adolph Lyon, a former well-known Hebrew resident of this city, died in Philadelphia yesterday. The remains will be brought to this city tomorrow afternoon; interment in the Jewish cemetery"
Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, 27 December 1898:
"Adolph Lyon, brief mention of whose death was made in Saturday's Mirror, was the treasurer of the Eleventh Avenue opera house, this city, for many years, under the management of E. D. Griswold. Deceased had not resided here for several years, but was employed in Philadelphia. He was 45 years old, having been born in Danville in 1853. He is survived by three brothers, Benjamin of Pittsburgh, and Edward and William, of Philadelphia, and one sister, Mrs. Jennie Oppenheimer. The remains were brought here Sunday afternoon and interred in the Hebrew cemetery at Newburg."
