Funeral Services
Held Tuesday For
Mrs. La Chappelle

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 3 p. m. in Raynor Chapel for Mrs. Rosabelle La Chapelle, native of Glenwood, who died December 18 at Denver, Colo. The Rev. Lawrence Murphy, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated. Music was by Mary Evelyn Logan.

Casket bearers were G. L. Fickel, Marvin Harold, George Lacey, L. G. Rodman, Garreld Baker and Fred Baker. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Rosabelle L Chapelle, daughter of Herman Robert Lyon and Ara Jane Lyon, was born March 19, 1869 at Glenwood, Iowa, and died December 17, 1955 at Denver, Colo.

She was a resident of Glenwood for 27 years, then in 1896 she moved to Ashland, Nebr., where her husband was editor of a local newspaper.

After finishing her public school education in Glenwood, she attended Tabor College. Returning from college she became a teacher in the Glenwood schools for several years.

On July 5, 1885 she was united in marriage to Joseph Blanchard La Chapelle who died in September 1927. To this union were born two sons, Harold C. of Denver, Colo., and Robert Lyon of Anamosa, Ia.

She was one of a family of two brothers and three sisters. Four of them preceded her in death. Her surviving brother, Fred Wilbur Lyon, lives in Escondido, Calif.

In addition to her one brother and two sons of her immediate family she leaves three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. LaChapelle was the sister of Dr. C. W. Lyon who was a practicing physician in Glenwood. Her husband was for several years the editor of the Mills County Tribune, then published in Glenwood.
