Mrs. Avery Gillespie
Mrs. Bertha Lyon Gillespie, 72, of Georgetown R. D. 1, wife of Avery Gillespie, died Friday at 4 p.m. at home following a brief illness. She was born Jan. 27, 1890, near Hookstown and resided in the area her lifetime. She was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. She also leaves a son, Calvin Gillespie of East Liverpool; two sisters, Miss Emma Lyon of Georgetown R. D. 1 and Mrs. Jeanette Cundiff of Chester, four brothers, Harry Lyon of Calcutta, Roy Lyon of East Liverpool, Charles Lyon of Monaca, and Clifford Lyon of Georgetown R. D. 1, and two grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hookstown church by the Rev. Milo Smith. Burial will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown. Friends may call at the family home after 7 tonight. The Welch Funeral Home in Hookstown is in charge of arrangements.
