Born May 9, 1917, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Sarah Miller Lynn.
He was employed for Railway Express, Grove Manufacturing and Fairchild Aircraft, retiring in 1982.
He owned and operated Immediate Washer Service for a number of years.
He was a member of Church of the Brethren in Hagerstown; and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Helen LaFollette Lynn; three daughters, Karen Sue Simmers of Hagerstown, Mary Ellen Marple of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Nancy Lee Messick of Winchester; two sons, Sherman Lee Lynn Sr. of Hagerstown, and George Miller Lynn Jr. of Winchester; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. Dean Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
