Funeral services for Rena Baxter, 90, formerly of Floydada will be held Thursday April 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Floydada with Dr. Floyd C. Bradley officiating. Family will greet friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Church parlor. Burial will be at the Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada.

Mrs. Baxter died April 17, 2006 at Westgate Nursing Home in Hereford.

She was born October 16, 1915 in Jones County to the late Carl and Ruth Lyles. She married Cecil Baxter in 1934 in Floydada. She was a loving mother and wonderful homemaker. She loved to cook and sew. She was a member of the first Baptist Church of Floydada and was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Baxter; a son, Kerwin Baxter; her parents; two brother, Floyd Lyles and C.O. Lyles; and a sister, Marge McElyea.

She is survived by a son, Waldo Baxter of Hereford; two brothers, John Lyles of Hale Center and Marvin Lyles of Bentonville, Arkansas; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
