NEWTON---Joy Alice Lutz Brittain, 80 of Newton passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Joy was born November 11, 1933 in Catawba County to the late Ralph and Zelda Cline Lutz.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Jean Rudisill and a brother, Dale Eugene Lutz.Joy was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church Joy is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Johnny Brittain of the home, daughter, Karen Renee Raines of Conover, son, Scott Allen Brittain and wife, Laura of Maiden, three granddaughters, Haley Brooke Raines, Karson Leigh Brittain, Payton Grace Brittain and a great- granddaughter, Sophia Faith Bowes..The family will receive friends Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 1:30pm to 2:45pm at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 3:00pm at New Jerusalem Lutheran Church with Reverend Randall Cauble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
