SHREVEPORT, LA- Albert Benjamin (A.B. or Ben) Luttrell, 71, passed away at the Grace Home on Saturday, June 14, of cancer. A Memorial service for Mr. Luttrell will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home located at 1815 Marshall Street.
Mr. Luttrell was born in Flatwoods, Louisiana on June 8, 1937. After serving in the United States Army in Germany, he and his family moved to Shreveport where he was later employed by Krohler Furniture Manufacturer as a Plant Manager. In the 80's, Mr. Luttrell went to work for Kansas City Railroad as Vice-President and General Manager of the cross-tie division, Superior Tie & Timber. He retired in 1997 and pursued his love for golf, woodworking and his family. He was a kind and generous man with a quick wit and a great passion for life.
Mr. Luttrell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Weaver Luttrell; sons, Mark Luttrell, Clay Luttrell and wife Ginger of Allen, Texas; daughter, Marti McMichael and husband Jim McMichael; grandchildren Tyler Luttrell, Ashley, Chase and Michael Luttrell and Ian and Meg Brown; two sisters, Edwina Adams and husband Billy Ray of Pineville, LA and Iona Luttrell of Birmingham, Alabama and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Nickelson and his assistant, Andrea, Dr. Sanford Katz, the team members of the Willis-Knighton Home Health Division and the Schumpert staff at the Grace Home for their services during Mr. Luttrell's battle with cancer.
