Gerald D. Luther, 81, formerly of 710 Lexington Ave., died at 3:25 pm Monday, March 3, 1980, in Valley View Home.
Mr. Luther retired as a repairman in the Second Street freight shop of the Pennsylvania Railroad on Dec 1, 1962, after 37 years' service.
He was born April 12, 1908, in Coupon, the son of Urban and Rose (Lumadue) Luther, and April 10, 1931, in Altoona, married Evelyn P. Beichler. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Gerald D. Jr. of Altoona and Kenneth of Roaring Springs; five grandchildren and 12 brothers and sisters, Edwin, Mrs. Grace Snyder, Mrs. Helena Hanely, Mrs. Margaret Donnellson, Mrs. Mercedes Sherlock, Mrs. Beatrice Heister, James J. , John L. , Giles T., Mrs. Alma Ripple and Mrs. Delores Dick of Saxton and Mrs. Anna Teeters of Martinsburg.
Mr. Luther was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church.
Friends will be recevied from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday in the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home.
LUTHER~ The funeral of Gerald D. Luther, formerly of 710 Lexington Ave., will be held with a mass of Christian Burial at 10 am Thursday in St. Mark's Catholic Church.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be recevied from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday in the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 pm Wednesday
