Pearl Elizabeth Luster Bowers was the first wife of William Lewis Bowers, and the mother of five boys, Walter Lewis Bowers, Roy Andrew Bowers, Carl Johnny Bowers, Robert Eugene Bowers, and William Dial(Rooster) Bowers. All five of the boys have passed away now. Walter Lewis and Robert Eugene are buried in the Bowers Family plot at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Arkansas. William Dial(Rooster), is buried in the Bone Family plot, also at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville, Arkansas. Roy Andrew is buried at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Batesville, Arkansas, and Carl Johnny is buried at Kyler Cemetery close to Batesville, Arkansas. Pearl died in the great flu epidemic of 1918. I have been told that she had just had a baby that also died, and she is buried with the baby in her arms. I can't say this is a fact, but it is a beautiful story.
