TIPTON MAN SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK
Rickleff Lunschen Falls on Street at Ivanhoe, Minn., and Expires Almost Instantly.
Rickleff Lunschen, a prominent and well known resident of this county, died suddenly last Friday at Ivanhoe, Minn. Mr. Lunschen was in the northwest on a business trip looking after his extensive land interests and up to the time of his death appeared to be in usual health. On Thursday he was at Elkton, S. D., where his son Chas. lives, going from that town to Ivanhoe, Minn. He was walking down the street of that town when he was seen to fall to the sidewalk and when bystanders reached him he was unconscious. He was carried into a house but breathed only a few times before death came.

The deceased was one of the best known men in the county, having been prominent as a farmer and stockman for many years. He contributed largely to the horsebreeding interests of interests of this section by his numerous importations of draft animals from Europe, making nearly twenty trips across the Atlantic in connection with this business. He was one of the first to see the coming development of the northwest and was a large investor in lands of South Dakota and Minnesota where his holdings were large. At one time he owned sixteen farms in addition to his farms in this county.

Ricklef Lunschen, son of Frederick and Johanna Woge Lunschen was born in Oldenburg, Germany, Feb. 7, 1840 and died at Ivanhoe, Minnesota, March 26, 1915, aged 75 years, 1 month, 19 days.

He was married on the 17th day of April, 1868 to Sophie Olkmann, and a month later came to America and settled in Scott County, Iowa, where he resided 20 years. In 1888, they moved to Tipton, and have been residents of Cedar County since that time.

Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lunschen, six of whom are now deceased. Those living being Charles Lunschen of Aurora, S. D.; Pauline Leahy of St. Paul, Minn., and Freida France of this place.
