New Holstein—Mrs. Mathilda Loewenhagen Luehrs, 79, died at the Odd Fellows Home, Green Bay, Friday night. She was born June 26, 1860, in the town of New Holstein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Loewenhagen. She lived here while her mother was postmistress. Mrs. Luehrs was employed in Milwaukee for 23 years. She married Mr. Luehrs on Sept. 17, 1906, and lived on a farm at Hayton until the fall of 1916. The family then moved to Madison for a year while Mr. Luehrs was an assemblyman. Then they came to New Holstein where Mr. Luehrs died on Aug. 30, 1934. Mrs. Luehrs went to Green Bay to live in 1935. She was a member of the Morning Star Rebekah lodge of Chilton.
Funeral services will be held Monday at the Odd Fellows home in Green Bay, with burial in New Holstein City cemetery, where a service will be held that afternoon. Survivors are the following step children; Dr. H. E. Luehrs, Corpus Christi, Tex., William of Los Angeles, Calif., Otto J. of Benton City, Washington, Mrs. Emil Schmidt of Chilton, Mrs. Carl Aggen, Mrs. Hugo Aggen and George L of New Holstein. Two step-children, James Luehrs, who died in Vancouver, Wash., in 1931, and Edward who died in New Holstein in 1936 and a brother, who passed away in Colorado in 1928 preceded her in death.
