Luckey
Services for Lee Luckey, 88, of Rockdale were Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with Rev. Gene VanNoord of the Church of Christ in Cameron officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mr. Luckey died Saturday, Dec. 20, in Manor Oaks Nursing Center.
A lifelong Milam County resident, he was born Feb. 2, 1920, in the Pleasant Hill community near Rockdale to John Rufus Luckey and Enolie Myrtle Miller.
He married Ruby J. Whiteley on Sept. 14, 1942, in Rockdale.
Mr. Luckey was a farmer and rancher and was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby J. Luckey, on July 21, 2006; four brothers, Claude Luckey, Rufus Luckey, Harvey Luckey and Glenn Luckey; and two sisters, Lena Wallace and Amy White.
Survivors are several nieces and nephews, including William D. Luckey, Harold D. Luckey, Barbara Nelson, Eugene Luckey, all of Rockdale, Buddy and Clyde Wallace of San Antonio; and a sister, Julia King of Rockdale.
Pallbearers were William Stork, Harry Koscielniak Jr., Tony Koscielniak, Harry Jordan, Brady Nelson Jr. and James Perry.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Bob Farr, James McNamara, Buddy Wallace and Clyde Wallace.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
