Freda A. Luce, 79, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998 at the Salina Regional Health Care Center.
She was born July 17, 1919 on the family farm near Collyer to Jerry and Maggie (Hitt) Dalby. She was a 1937 graduate of Collyer High School and attended Hays Normal School.
She married Lyle Luce on Aug. 11, 1940 at her parent's home in rural Collyer. She taught in a rural Trego Co. school for a time. She was a homemaker. She had lived in WaKeeney since 1978, coming from rural Collyer. She had been a resident of Sterling House since March.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Tourist Club and Mid-Week Campers Club, all of WaKeeney.
Survivors include her husband, Salina; two sons: Ken, Oakley; and Jeff, Lisbon, Portugal; a daughter Connie Riggs, Salina; a sister Lucille Wilson, Denver; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were at the United Methodist Church, WaKeeney with the Rev. Loren Marler officiating; burial in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
