Mrs. John S. Baker, one of the well known women of Potter County, died suddenly Wednesday evening. She had gone to the home of her neighbor, Mrs. James Taubert to stay with the latter's little children while the mother and father went to a place of amusement. Just as they were ready to start, Mrs. Baker was stricken suddenly ill. she was helped to her home and died just as she entered her door. She was 49 years of age and was born in Eulalia township and had lived her entire life in this vicinity. She is survived by her husband and one brother, A. C. Luce of Hinsdale, NY and three children, Simeon, Hazel, and Hilda.
